About
Why:
My name is Abby and I’ve been a girl scout since kindergarten. I started going to Girl Scout summer camp when I was 11, and since the beginning I’ve always struggled with homesickness and anxiety while away. In the three times I’ve gone to Girl Scout summer camp, I have found a lot of different ways to help with these issues, so when I had to pick a silver award, I knew what I wanted to do almost right away. I want to help as many girls as I can so that they don’t have to go through the same struggles I did, and have the best camp experience possible.
At my event we ran 4 stations to help girls learn about camp and learn skills you need. Our 4 stations were Dealing With Homesickness, Packing, All About Bedding, and Friendship Bracelet Making. We have instructions on how to run these with your girl or troop on your own on the Activities Page.
